We deliver out courses through the following four course zones

Activity Zone

The Activity Zone is where both teachers and students post information before and after classes related
to the course topic.

Lesson Zone

In the Lesson Zone students can access all course content provided by CJ Fallon.

Document Zone

The Document Zone hosts the teacher’s documents. It includes the teacher’s course content, additional content
and PDFs of the live classes.

Class Zone

Our final zone is the Class Zone. This zone allows students to attend the live class delivered by the teacher.
The Class Zone will store the recorded class videos, which students can access at any time.

Three terms per year, each term consists of eight weeks.

Junior Certificate courses cost €120 per subject per term.

Leaving Certificate courses cost €140 per subject per term.

Below are some Frequently Asked Questions

What does our website offer?
The Learning Academy offers all students live online tutorials from the comfort of their home. Students can access content
provided by books published by CJFallon.

How much does each course cost?
Junior Certificate courses cost €120 per course per term and Leaving Certificate courses cost €140 per course per term.

How many weeks of tuition are in a course?
We offer 3 terms throughout the academic year. Each term consists of 8 weeks.

When do the courses commence?

Can students sample a class before registering?
Students can view sample classes by clicking HERE without registering.

What equipment does each student require?
Any laptop or desktop running the Microsoft Windows or Apple Mac operating system.

What Web Browser can I use to access classes
We support Google Chrome or Firefox only. Please do not Safari or any other browser.

What do I need on my Computer?
You computer needs to have sound working.

Can I use my Mobile phone to access the Class
No, because the class screens are to large to view on a mobile Device.

How do I know when my Classes are starting
You will receive a reminder email on the morning of you class. You can also view your Upcoming classes
by clicking HERE and selecting you course, Then
click on the CLASS Zone. All you upcoming courses will be listed here

How do I access the Class Recording
You can also view the class recordings by clicking HERE and selecting you course, Then click on the CLASS Zone. All you class recordings will be listed here

If a course has started can I join during the term?
Yes, all classes are recorded. If a student joins during the term they will have access to past recordings within that term.

If I join late do I still get access to the course videos?
Yes, once a student joins the course they will gain access to past recordings and other documentation from that term.

If I join a course from Term 2 or Term 3 can I pay to gain access to previous terms?
Yes, students can pay to gain access to content and videos from previous terms. Students will need to pay in
full to gain this access.

Are there discounts for multiple students?
Currently we offer no discounts.

If I am unable to log on for any reason to a live class am I entitled to view a copy of the notes for that class?
Yes, the recorded class and notes are available to view within 48 hours as they are stored on the website
and are accessible at any time.

What happens if a student misses a class?
All classes are recorded and are available to view within 48hours. If a student misses a class they can review
the classes via the recording at any time.

What happens if a teacher misses a class?
If a teacher misses a class that class will run at the end of the term.

If my internet goes down before or during class time do I get a refund?
Unfortunately, if you cannot access the website due to a fault with your Internet a refund cannot be given but
the student will have access to the recorded version of the class within 48 hours.

Am I entitled to a refund if I cancel during a term?
Unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund.

Are the teachers Garda vetted?
Yes, all teachers are Garda vetted and are registered with the Teaching Council of Ireland.

How long will the recordings of each live class remain on the website?
The recorded classes stay accessible on the website for the length of the academic year from
the term that the student first registers.

Can you download the recorded class?
Unfortunately, classes cannot be downloaded but they can be viewed through the website.

Can I change my subject course or class time during the year?
Where possible The Learning Academy will try to facilitate the change of subject/class time but each request
will be examined individually.

Do classes continue during holiday periods?
No, there are breaks at mid-term, Christmas and Easter.

Can a 4th Year student take part in Leaving Certificate subjects?
Yes, it is recommended that a 4th Year student enrols into 5th year classes.

How many students will be in the class?
Class sizes vary, but we try to keep classes to a maximum of 20 students per class.

Are the classes conducted lecture style or are students free to ask questions?
Live classes are student orientated so we highly recommend that students take part in class by asking questions
verbally or by using the private and public messaging system built into each class. Outside of class times students
can ask questions at any time through the Activity Zone.

What subjects can I enroll in?

Help, I cannot find a Link to my Class?

You should have received a reminder email on the morning of your class. If not, then you can also view your Upcoming classes by clicking HERE and selecting your course. You can then click on the CLASS Zone where all your live and upcoming classes will be listed.

 

Help, I cannot hear or see the Teacher?

  • Check your Speakers are working by Clicking Here to Play a video to test your current settings
  • If you are still having sound or video issues in a class then FOR CHROME Users, Please click HERE to see a video off how to fix common Chrome Sound and Video Issues
  • If your sound or video is still now working in Chrome Then Please Click HERE to see a video off how to set extended sound settings
  • If you are a FIREFOX user and are having sound or video issues in a class then Please Click HERE to see a video off how to fix common Firefox Sound and Video Issues
  • If your Sound is still now working or if you cannot see the teacher presenting the class then please Click HERE and follow the instructions to test out your current settings.

 

Help, I can’t see the live class screen (black screen)?

In the unlikely event that you are seeing a blank live class screen simply re-enter the class by refreshing the webpage or by clicking the link again in the ‘Class Zone’ or in your class reminder email.

 

Help, I can’t access the class?

If you are unable to connect to the class please log out and log back in and click on the class link again. Make sure you are using Google Chrome browser or Firefox browser.

 

Help, I’ve been removed out from a class. How do I get back in the class?

In the unlikely event that you are seeing a blank live class screen simply re-enter the class by refreshing the webpage or by clicking the link again in the ‘Class Zone’ or in your class reminder email.

 

Help, The class screen isn’t loading?

If you are unable to connect to the class please log out and log back in and click on the class link again. Make sure you are using Google Chrome browser or Firefox browser on a Laptop or Desktop (Please do not use SAFARI Browser or a Mobile Phone)

 

Help, I cannot find a Link to my Recordings?

You can also view the class recordings by clicking HERE and selecting you course, Then click on the CLASS Zone.
All you class recordings will be listed there .

 

Help, I cannot use my Mobile to access the Live Class?

We do not support Mobile Phone access to Live Classes, This is because the class screens are to large to view on a mobile Device.

 

Help, What Browser do I need to access the Live Class?

Help, Can I view the live class on an iPad or tablet?

It depends on Screen size and resolution, We only support Laptops and Desktops using
Google Chrome or Firefox browser on a Laptop or Desktop (Please do not use SAFARI Browser or a Mobile Phone)

 

Help, My teacher has cancelled the class, when will it be rescheduled?

If your teacher has cancelled the class you will receive an email notification of the cancelled class and the rescheduled date will follow in a seperate email shortly. Any cancelled class will typically be rescheduled at the end of the 8 week term.

 

Help, I cannot make the class, what will I do?

If you are unable to make the live class the recording will be available to you within 24 hours.

 

Help, What speed internet do I need?

The Learning Academy classes do require a fast enought Internet connection to play videos. You can test your Internet speed
by clicking HERE .

 

Help, Do I need speakers to hear the class?

Yes, in order to hear the teacher you will need internal or external speakers. Earphones are also an option.

 

Help, I can’t find the class notes?

To locate the class notes please go to ‘My Courses’ and click on the ‘Document Zone’. Additional teacher notes are located there.

 

Help, Can I download the videos?

No, all recorded classes are hosted on our website and can be streamed at any time.

Help, How long can access the Course after its completed.

For Intensives (typically a 2 week course) Access is revoked 4 weeks after the start of the course.
For Term courses (usually 8 weeks). Access is revoked after 12 months from the start of the Course.
