What information we may collect about you
In order to provide our educational services to our users we need to collect and process information about you. We make every effort to minimise the information gathered.
When you use our Website, whether for browsing, leaving comments in the Activity Zone, or attending a class you will be firstly asked to register onto the system. The information that we collect at this stage is:

If you decide to comment within the Activity Zone/Instant Messaging in the Live Class/Raise Hand function we will gather this information as display it in the Class recordings. This information however is only linked to your username and not your email address. The username is random generated at the time of registration and does not link the email to the user.
When attending a Live class you may also be used the Audio feature that will record your voice. This audio will be also heard in the recordings. Again this data is only linked to your user account and not your email.
How we will use information we collect about you
The information collected from you as a user is only to enable you to access online services (5 Learning Zones) in line with our Website Terms of Use and Terms and Conditions of Supply. No financial data is held on TheLearningAcademy website. Information gathered with the Class Zone via the Live Polls/IMs/Raise Hand will be used to direct the teacher on learning outcome and to provide information on direction for teaching styles. This information is linked to your username rather than email address.
Whether we will disclose your details to anyone else
TheLearningAcademy only shares information with strategic partners. There is no personal
or identifiable information shared with our partners. If support is required only the
username of the student or teacher is shared in order to support the user in fixing their
issue.

Security
We take security very seriously. All staff are made aware of the security procedures they
must follow when handling personal information. Data is protected from unauthorised
access and we are confident no one will be able to access your personal information
unlawfully.
We also protect data which is being transferred. As long as your web browser supports the
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), any personal data transmitted from your browser to our web
service, or from the service to your browser, will be encrypted.
Please note that internet email is never a totally secure way of communicating. By using it,
you agree that you will send any information by email at your own risk.

While we will take all reasonable precautions to make sure that other organisations we deal
with have good security practices, we are not responsible for the privacy practices of those
organizations whose websites may be linked to our service.
Caching
TheLearningAcademy uses Caching on the website to speed up delivery of content to the
users. The cache is renewed every 5 days. Alternatively, the user can press Ctrl and F5 to
renew the websites content. Caching is only used to improve performance and no personal
data is captured.
Email communications
Email is used to communicate with the Students and Parents in relation to the Subscribed
Course. Emails are generated if a Teacher needs to reach out the Students or Parents with
information directly related to the Course. The use of Email is limited as will only be used
when required. Most interactions should be completed in the Activity Zone within
TheLearningAcademy Platform.
Children
We do not knowingly use the Website to solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.
If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with information or may be receiving communications from us without consent of a parent or guardian, we ask that this be brought to our immediate attention. We will make it our priority to address this situation and delete information relating to a child as soon as practicable. In such an event, please contact us at support@thelearningacademy.ie.
Retention of Data
TheLearningAcademy only holds data for no longer than is necessary. Once the purpose of the data has been fulfilled TheLearningAcademy will permanently delete this data or remove any attributes that makes the data identifiable to a person. This anonymised data may be used to improve TheLearningAcademy’s experience for teachers and students in the future. All comments in the Activity Zone may be kept for the duration of the course plus 40 days.

TheLearningAcademy chooses its partners carefully but users should be aware that when
you are on a TheLearningAcademy site, you could be directed to other sites that are beyond
our control. There are links to other sites from TheLearningAcademy pages that take you
outside our service. For example, if you “click” on a link in a directory list item, the “click”
takes you off the TheLearningAcademy site. These other sites may send their own cookies to
users, collect data or solicit personal information. Always be aware of where you may end
up! Please keep in mind that whenever you give out personal information online, for
example, via message boards or discussion forums that information can be collected and
used by people you don’t know.
Location of Data
Our servers are located in the European Union. We use a third party service who currently hosts data/recordings in the USA. The third party host the data in Microsoft Azure and all security measures are implemented. All data stored is encrypted. There is no identifiable data hosted in the USA. USA data is only accessible by authorised users of TheLearningAcademy. All user data (emails, Activity Zones data) is hosted in the EU.
